Nativz Esports Club

OVERVIEW

There was an opportunity to establish an esports entity in Dublin, at the time of inception Munster Rugby Gaming was the only Irish esports organisation. Wylde was registered outside of Ireland and had a global approach to building their business. Other Irish esports entities included Legion Media (owners of GamerStore), Epic Global Agency and the now defunct Ireland Collegiate Esports. In such a nascent industry within Ireland there was an opportunity to introduce an esports Club anchored in the capital.

The challenge was to establish an esports club from scratch! Our original thinking was to create an esports brand that transcended the internet, a new club that was global, no geographic home as such. That didn't last long. In reality was that this was a reach too far, it wasn't going to resonate with the existing esports community. We then shifted our focus locally, Dublin didn't have an esports team let alone a club, it's the tech gateway to Europe and Capital of Ireland - it just made sense.

IN NUMBERS (AS OF MAR 2024)

  • 1 NLC 1st Division Champions Title
  • 14 diverse and talented members of the Nativz Creator Team
  • 110K social reach across all Nativz and Ireland Collegiate Staff, Creator and Official channels
  • 173K all time peak concurrent audience vs. K Corp, 2023 EMEA Summer Masters

MILESTONES SINCE LAUNCH

  • Establishment of Nativz (May 2021) - two teams formed, League of Legends First Team and Academy Team for the Danish Telia Series, we won the 1st Division
  • Riot Consolidates UK&I with the Nordics (Aug 2021) - in September 2021 we secured a place in the new 2022 NLC 2nd Division
  • Expansion into Valorant (Jun 2022) - opportunity calls, talented Valorant Team emerges from Ireland's Collegiate Series so we picked them up and entered the Beacon Series
  • All about promotion (Aug 2022) - we nailed it, the team were together for the full year and pulled off promotion to the NLC 1st Division beating now defunct MNM Gaming
  • New home for the Collegiate Series (Sep 2022) - only two weeks before the start of the 2022/23 Academic year we were approach to take it over, so we did
  • Freaks4U freaked out a bit (Oct 2022) - just as we were plotting our entry into the 1st Division F4U called an owners meeting, they wanted out and were scaling back delivery for 2023, body blow for the competition
  • Farewell to our Valorant Roster (Mar 2023) - the team were great, the individuals were even better, the problem was the Beacon Series - we just couldn't access any content
  • 1st Division tale of two Splits (2023) - unsure how Freaks4U would approach their delivery we took a frugal approach for Spring (finish last equal), we then doubled down and were crowned Summer Champions
  • Look out Europe and K-Corp (Sep 2023) - Karmine Corp didn't know what hit them in the EMEA Summer Masters, we took them to a play-off to make the play-offs, 173K people watched online
